LAKISHA’S POST:
Social responsibility in a business setting is engaging in positive support within the community, getting involved in ways that will help impact the environment and using their platform for good to promote programs that can coincide with an every day changing society.
On a personal aspect social responsibility for me is helping within my community by volunteering at nursing facilities, hospice and at soup kitchens and also when I’m able to donate to one of the charities that is dear to my heart (awareness for domestic violence, breast cancer, and foster care). To me personal social responsibility is basically just being kind and decent to another being, having common courtesy toward others and having respect for oneself and thy neighbor.
Yes business organizations should be socially responsible. By doing so organizations can gain loyal employees, attract loyal customers, open doors to new opportunities in the future. When others see the good and positive things that an organization is doing for the community and the environment positive outcomes and benefits will follow.
In order for a organization to
grow and be successful it needs 2 very important ingredients which is ethics and corporate social responsibility.
I think that managers should
give mandatory training classes in ethics management to all employees within the organization. The training will cover the following:
• corporation values
• codes and policies to guide decisions and behavior
• standards of the organization
With this training employees will have a clearer and better understanding of what business ethics are expected of them while being employed at the company and will give them the encouragement and motivation needed to be loyal employees and deliver with confidence.

In this week’s reading material, we learned about social responsibility. Social responsibility defined by the reading material was broken into three main components. Seriously considering the impact of company actions on others, the obligation of managers to protect and improve the welfare of society, and, meeting the economic and legal responsibilities and extending beyond those obligations. After reading the material and how it gives an outlook on how goods impact the people, and businesses should be interested because it makes them profit in turn, I have my outlook. I did do a little bit of research to understand a bit better, but all the articles I came across focused on image. Image is important to a business’s success because it builds a sense of consumer support, trust, and respect. It ensures consumers you care about your company. Going a bit further into image, it comes down to the way internal images are being represented as well, such as customer support or customer service. Business owners should be making sure their employees all hold the same values and represent the business in a correct manner. This in my opinion is one of the fundamental building blocks for a great business, as poor image especially in this generation, is easily criticized. For example, Chick-fil-a holds a sense of great image externally to consumers, and internally as employees, they create a satisfactory product and service which ties directly into social responsibility. I think that all businesses should be socially responsible, and they should take actions to improve if they feel they are not. In my opinion I feel that if business owners do not feel their internal community is up to par, that meetings are beneficial. But meetings do only help to a certain extent, so I think a good way to make sure all employees are on the same page is to hire like-minded employees who hold the same core values, and also businesses should focus on employee retention plans to ensure they keep good employees and attract new employees. I stay strong on the fact that an image in society these days is very detrimental, and maintaining image in business is tough since you have a group of diverse personalities employed together. I think all business owners could benefit immensely by following social responsibility.
Thank you

INSTRUCTOR:
Thank you for your post.
Please elaborate on, “All individuals whose actions have an impact on society.” Provide an example.
Best regards
MY POST:
1.
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) describes social responsibility in a business context. Social responsibility shows how all people and entities have an obligation to always act in the best interests of the society and community. CSR is business is used to show that businesses have the responsibility of doing good with actions towards social accountability to customers, stakeholders, and the world. This is used to show the mandate organizations and companies have to embrace policies that promote the well-being of society and the environment (Novelli, 2021). This can be done by making environmental reforms and participating in charity works.
2.
According to me, social responsibility is the duty which an individual has to perform civic duties which end up benefiting the whole society. The actions of an individual should be guided by the foundation of ethics. The theory of social responsibility gives a mandate to individuals and groups to do things right and just and consider the application of morally correct standards in making daily decisions in situations that can affect other people or the environment (Novelli, 2021). This does not apply to business alone but also to all individuals whose actions can have an impact on society.
3.
I think business organizations should be socially responsible. They should be socially responsible to contribute to the well-being of the society which is good for the business. It ends up building the brand of the business in the market and creates a platform to be viewed by customers and stakeholders as an appealing organization. A business that adopts social responsibility end up attracting more customers as well as retaining existing customers. It increases customer loyalty which in the long run enables the success of the business.
4.
Finally, make a connection between corporate social responsibility and ethics. What do you think is the best way for managers to ensure and/or encourage their employees to act ethically?
Ethics are defined as the code of conduct that governs the actions of an individual or group regarding doing what is right versus what is wrong. Ethics set standards for determining what is right and what is wrong. In business, ethics are used s guiding principles for promoting the common good. Ethics and corporate social responsibility are related because CSR is founded on ethical grounds. CSR shows the need for companies to make sure their actions do not pollute the environment which can impact the livelihood of humanity. It guides the business to avoid maximizing profits at the expense of human beings and environmental well-being.
There are several ways that can be used to promote ethical behaviors in organizations and among employees (Graziano, 2017). Provision of training and seminars on ethics education can be used. It is also good to give incentives and acknowledge employees who portray ethical behavior.

SHEREE’S POST
Hello Everyone ,
In my opinion on revision is that it is the action of revising and its good to use because if you do not look over your work it can cause alot of problem , you always look over your work you might have misspelled something or even put your punctuation in the wrong place . it also improve your vision.
The danger of not revising your work? Well the danger is that it can cause miscommunication and it can also cause confusing and it can decrease your chance of acceptance by a traditional publisher.
JANET’POST
Revision is a very important part of writing. I have noticed in my work that not revising has caused small mistakes. Small mistakes take off points, and every point adds up.
One assignment I done revision on,was reliable sources. I’m not sure if it was for my writing, honestly. Or because reliable sources are so important.
I have however learned that revision is very important.
